The GANNDALF project responds to the need for the adoption of innovative and collaborative frameworks by law enforcement authorities (LEAs), with the aim of removing communication barriers in the judicial and operational ecosystem and addressing the rapidly evolving challenges posed by advanced, state-of-the-art (Crime-as-a-Service) cybercrimes.
In order to support cross-border cooperation in terms of transparency, GANNDALF includes a flexible model of seamless exchange of information on criminal activities, ensuring the protection of privacy. At the same time, it promotes the planning of joint criminal investigations through the development of tools that enable real-time cooperation and the full exploitation of autonomously distributed digital infrastructures, with the aim of enhancing information and analysis of cybercrime.
In addition, GANNDALF promotes the interdisciplinary exchange of know-how in the fields of cybersecurity, digital forensics, law, psychology and social sciences, with the aim of developing cutting-edge research techniques.
GANNDALF will propose new standards to tackle cyber threats and cyber-dependent crimes through the implementation of inter-agency data exchange mechanisms, ensuring both transparency and privacy protection in line with the needs of law enforcement authorities.
The project develops a modular methodology to support decision-making processes, which includes the application of innovative technologies for collaborative investigation, threat anticipation and detection of cybercrime. It provides a flexible, collaborative environment (“sandbox”) for scenario testing, case analysis and criminal investigation.
Finally, GANNDALF will facilitate the formulation of public policies as well as public education and participation through innovative tools aligned with the Cyber Hygiene 2.0 vision.
The participation of the Hellenic Police in the GANNDALF project underlines its commitment to exploiting technological developments and strengthening European cooperation in the context of addressing the contemporary challenges of cybercrime.
