EASTEAMS

The project EASTEAMS (European Actions Strengthening Teams Establishment Against Migrant Smuggling) is a European research project, coordinated by the Hellenic Police and funded by the programme Internal Security Fund (ISF) of the  European Union.

EASTEAMS aims to prevent and combat the illegal trafficking of migrants, while at the same time hindering criminal organizations, through the establishment of a Common Operational Partnerships (COP) structure.

This Partnership will support cooperation between the relevant law enforcement authorities of Pakistan and the destination countries (Greece, Cyprus, France, Germany, Cyprus) at both operational and investigational level.

Furthermore, through the implementation of the above partnerships (COP), the implementation of training programs – exercises, the creation of an operational application (App) and utilizing appropriate communication tools, EASTEAMS has set as its objective:

  • reinforce legal, policy, operational and strategic frameworks,
  • exchange of information and best practices,
  • mutual support for ongoing investigations,
  • improvement of organizational procedures and,
  • coordination with assimilated projects.
