Press Release
Athens, March 23, 2004
Minister of Public Order Georgios Voulgarakis and Deputy Minister Christos Markogiannakis today visited the headquarters of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games Organizing Committee (ATHOC), where they had a working meeting with ATHOC President Gianna Angelopoulos-Daskalaki. Also present were ATHOC Managing Director Ioannis Spanoudakis and Executive Director Marton Simitsek.
Afterwards, Voulgarakis made the following statement to reporters:
“We had a very good discussion with Mrs. Angelopoulou and with her colleagues; a very good collaboration, informative but also one dealing with substance. We put a great deal of issues in order; we discussed certain things that have been done; we set a deadline for the rest that must be done and we are very optimistic. I believe in terms of security, things are moving very fast and very well.”
